Walker Adams

NYC drummer playing jazz and rock

Enticing the mind and compelling the booty, Walker Adams Project pushes the limits of funk-jazz-rock fusion. The band’s upbeat, catchy songs provide a tasty coating to the bold, indulgent improvisation that’s reminiscent of Medeski Martin & Wood, Galactic, Lettuce and Soulive. With frequent shows in NYC, east coast tours, and annual shows at Burlington Discover Jazz Festival, this band seeks the spotlight and is on their way up.

At the heart of the band’s sound is Walker Adams, a Berklee grad and former St. Vincent drummer who triggers bass and percussion samples while playing live drums. Quintin Zoto(Nat Adderley Jr, Ron McClure) lays down serious funk and jazz rhythm guitar and breaks out with explosive, shreddy solos. The group's prominent horn players(NYU Jazz grad Evan Lane on trumpet and Banff Jazz Workshop alumnus Yuma Uesaka on saxophone) blast soaring melodies and inspired, adventurous solos.
