Biography

Walker Adams is a Hudson Valley NY-based drummer, composer, producer and educator. He has a degree from Berklee College of Music and has played with St. Vincent, The Ludlow Thieves, Miggs, and bassist Percy Jones. His signature sound reflects his respect for tradition and passion for innovation. 

Walker Adams grew up in Vermont where his early influences were the sounds of nature and his parent's vinyl collection of rock, jazz, and classical. He began playing drums at age 13 after moving to Rockland County NY.  He studied with Dave Brubeck drummer Jeff Kraus and playing in his highschool jazz band under the direction of pianist Bill Pernice. 

He attended Berklee College of Music and graduated with honors in 2004. He began his professionla career in New York City where toured with fusion bassist Percy Jones in his band Tunnels. He then joined his fellow Berklee alumni Annie Clarke a.k.a St. Vincent for a year-long tour of her debut album Marry Me. This included opening for Arcade Fire, and performing at Coachella, Austin CIty Limits, and NYC venue Terminal 5. 

He went on to work with rock drummer Carmine Appice in his drum show Slamm.  He performed and recorded with The Ludlow Thieves, culminating in soldout shows at Bowery Ballroom and Irving Plaza. He then toured and recorded with Miggs, including opening for Scott Weiland of STP, and working with Grammy-winning producer Phil Ramone. 

Adams is currently active with his original band TELEPATHIC MOON DANCE. He teaches and does session work from his studio in Newburgh NY. You can contact Walker at walker.drummer@gmail.com.
